Slums are expanding widely in India. There is a human element in the lives of those who live in slums. The slums are like the visible extensions of the villages. Some of its characteristics such as superstitions, fatalism, prostitution and the caste system and other elements are brought into the slums. This situation makes it difficult to share Christian faith and they are remaining unreached.
The Redemption India has to serve those who are destitute and neglected with compassion and love and should have concern about the welfare of the people in their situation and conditions. While slum dwellers in India are in such a position and remain unreached, it is important to focus the attention of the Gospel towards them.
